Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Repsol (BME:REP), which rose 1.77% or 0.20 points to trade at 11.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Bankinter (BME:BKT) added 1.44% or 0.11 points to end at 7.61 and Naturgy Energy Group SA (BME:NTGY) was up 1.21% or 0.28 points to 23.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS), which fell 2.50% or 0.20 points to trade at 7.80 at the close. Fluidra (BME:FLUI) declined 1.59% or 0.38 points to end at 23.46 and Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) was down 1.50% or 0.27 points to 17.74.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 122 to 79 and 26 ended unchanged.
Shares in SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.50% or 0.20 to 7.80. Shares in Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) fell to all time lows; losing 1.50% or 0.27 to 17.74.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.58% or 15.26 to $2,616.64 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.32% or 0.93 to hit $71.53 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.95% or 0.70 to trade at $74.49 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 108.01.
